Introduction to DART - Part 3 - Digital Access and Resilience Curriculum for ESOL

Vi Hawes, Presenter. The Digital Access & Resilience in Texas (DART) curriculum is designed to bridge the gap in digital literacy among adult English language learners, particularly those with limited digital skills.

Developed by Dr. Glenda Rose, Dr. Denise Guckert, and Anson Greene, the curriculum integrates basic digital literacy with English as a Second Language (ESL) instruction. It covers foundational digital skills such as using keyboards, navigating the internet, basic security practices, and handling common computer functions.

The curriculum is specifically targeted at beginners and serves as a supplement to existing ESL programs, providing a blend of both language learning and essential digital competencies. This initiative helps adult learners not only improve their English but also gain the technological skills necessary for modern life and employment.
