At a pivotal moment for Adult Ed, we are inundated with quick-fix solutions for ESOL learners, as evidenced at COABE by significant financial investment in advertisements by subscription-based education service companies.

At times, “education” sessions blended indistinguishably into tacit promotions of private-sector products. However, many COABE presenters also showcased creative use of tech that is free, sustainable, shareable, and which enables practitioners to retain the human side of education.
